Headed to Pigeon Forge, TN

The Meyers had been planning a 4-day vacation to Pigeon Forge. They planned to leave right after school was out on May 25th. They asked if we wanted to meet them there since it is only a few hours from our house. Of course, we said yes.

Our plans were to arrive on the afternoon of Sunday, May 26th, Memorial Day weekend and leave on Thursday, May 30th. A short, but fun trip. It would be our first trip without our precious Bentley who died on Tuesday, May 21st. He had been on every trip with us since 2007 when we bought our first motorhome. Abigail did her best to fill in for him, and even though she did a good job it just wasn't the same.

Here she is riding on the dashboard as we started down the road,

And Emma & Trevor were busy on their devices while riding along on their way from Florida.

After we checked into Camp Margaritaville in Pigeon Forge & the Meyers checked into their cabin, they came over to our place. The RV Park had a restaurant, bar and lodge with an arcade in the basement. for the kids. It was a good thing too, since it poured down rain. Glynda drove up from Chatsworth to spend a couple of days with us too.

The weather prediction was to have rain all week. It stormed all Sunday night and Monday morning and by 10am it had cleared up and was beautiful the rest of the week.

Monday morning, Abby and I went for a walk around the campground.

It was a really nice campground with lots of amenities. They had a lodge, heated pool, lazy river, pickleball courts, a couple of bars and places to eat, playgrounds and lots of games for the kids. It was very clean, and the staff were all very friendly. They had more amenities than we needed for sure.

The Meyers decided to go to Dollywood on Monday after the rained had stopped. They had a great time even though they didn't get to see everything.

Emma and Najla really liked the roller coasters like the Thunderhead wooden roller coaster. Ryan and Trevor, not so much.

For dinner, we had reservations for the Dollywood dinner show. It was great and the food was really good too. They served creamy vegetable soup, a whole roasted chicken, mashed potatoes, corn on the cob, a biscuit, BBQ pork and an apple turnover. You didn't leave hungry for sure.

They had a pre-show for entertainment while we waited. The trio was very good.

Here are some of the pictures taken at the show.
