A Day in the Buena Vista Area

Last night when we went to bed we put on a DVD to watch. Nicholas sat at the end of the bed mesmorized the entire time. He was so funny watching the TV, he just couldn't take his eyes off. So this morning we put on the birdie DVD for them in our bedroom so they could watch. Bentley and Nicky were captivated with it. Finny was not interested. He knew they were only on TV and not the real deal..

After the kitties had their fun with their video we put them outside in their playpen. I had seen a squirrel out by the fire pit and when I looked there was a ground squirrel living in it--right in the fire pit. So I threw out peanuts and waited for the fun. Bentley was the first to spot him as he came up out of the hole and grabbed a peanut. Bentley was just beside himself and wouldn't take his eyes off of the hole waiting for him to come back up.

What a cute little guy. Nicky saw him and was looking intently, but Finny never saw him because he was busy looking at everything else. I took Finny for a walk in the stroller and passed by this interesting sign near the play ground.
How tacky, but it gets the point across.

After the kitties had their fun we went to visit Bev's Stitchery. It was a nice little shop with a little of everything, knitting, crochet, quilting, books patterns and notions.

After lunch we went to the Jumping Good Goat Dairy 2 miles out of town. I had read about them on an RV blog Gone with the Wynns and since we were so close to the dairy thought we'd go there for some goat cheese. They have a nice website.  http://www.jumpingoodgoats.com/Home.html and they give you samples to try before you buy. If you are there on certain days and times you can take a tour or help milk the goats, We weren't there on any of those days, but the owner said we were welcome to walk around and see thee goats.

These were the baby goats and they were so cute.

After our visit to the goat dairy we took a drive to Salida. It was only 24 miles away so it wasn't too far. We walked around their small downtown area, visited a couple of shops and drove home. A nice day in Buena Vista and Salida.
