Another Relaxing Day in Montrose.

We had a very nice day in Montrose with no real agenda. In the morning we did some cleaning in the MH and afterward I drove over to visit the local quilt shop. It was in a little yellow house with each room having different types of fabric, I did see some cute patterns and bought a fat quarter with images of wagons and buckets that would go in the I Spy Quilt I am collecting fabric for. It was a nice little shop, but nothing that I hadn't seen before except for the little mini patterns.

All around Montrose there are Western statues. I'm not sure what the significance is other than just the artistic nature of them. They are all cowboys and very detailed.,

Then we took a ride to Ouray which was about 30 miles south. We passed through Ridgway which is a beautiful area and had lunch at the True Grit Cafe. It was a old building like the rest of the town. The inside had pictures of John Wayne on all the walls as well as posters from all of his movies. Very nostalgic and the food was good.

                              The views between Ridgway and Ouray were so beautiful.

We have been to Ouray before and loved the little town. Lots of original old buildings there too. One that is always interesting is the Ouray brewery with the open air bar on the top. On a nice day they have some wonderful views of the surrounding mountains.

 After Ouray we drove back to the CG for a nice quiet evening. Not a very exciting day, but very enjoyable.
