ON OUR WAY TO MAINE

We left Saturday morning from our new storage facility in Soddy Daisy for Baileyton, TN KOA. The place we had been keeping our MH in Chattanooga for the last 15 years told us the beginning of April they were raising our rates from $260/month to $360/month. Needless to say, that was ridiculous. We sat out looking for some place cheaper that still has covered storage and electric hookup. Since we have a residential refrigerator, we wanted to keep it plugged in all the time. One of the places we use for service offers storage, but they were full with a one yr. waiting list. But they told us about a new place opening in Soddy Daisy. It is completely across town, but the price with cover, security and electric was $225/month, It was worth the drive. There are very few RV storage places so we jumped at the offer.

So when leaving, it took 2 trips over to pack up and one final trip to take the cats over with us. they were so good on the long ride over. Finnegan really W=Enjoyed looking out the window all along the way.. Not a peep out of any of them. Since we were all the way across town, we decided to take a different route to Knoxville. We crossed over to I-75 on Hwy 30, which is narrow, hilly and curvy in some areas/ Probably not a good choice when driving a 38 ft. MH and towing a car. We made it OK though,

Bentley enjoyed getting on the dashboard and laying in the sunshine. He enjoyed watching where we were going. Our little co-pilot.

Eventually we crossed the Tennessee River and got back on I 75 towards Knoxville.

Not a great picture, but we were moving, so what can I say?

We arrived at Baileyton KOA and were all settled in. We were only there for 1 night. We had brought some pull pork that David had made an decided to have a pulled pork sandwich for supper. I had forgotten to bring bar b que sauce, so I walked down to the office to see if they had any. The only kind they had was their own brand----Moonshine Bar B Que sauce. Oh well, It served it's purpose and I almost forgot to take a picture.

Notice the table? David refinished it after the last trip and it turned out pretty nice.

After dinner, I made a cherry pie and we had a quiet evening with the kitties.

On Sunday, we are headed to Roseland, VA to Devil's Backbone Brewery and Campground.
More tomorrow.
