SAN ANTONIO HERE WE COME

We both love San Antonio. We haven't been here in many, many years, but it was so nice to come back. We only wished we had stayed an extra day.

We spent one day on the River walk. We parked near The Alamo Plaza so that we could find our car once we were finished walking all over. The white building is the Courthouse and Post Office building which is across from The Alamo. Between these two landmarks we figured we couldn't get too lost. It's always odd to see such modern structures next to an historical landmark like this.
This is the side of the Alamo and the Plaza area.

A monument dedicated to those that died at The Alamo,

The front of The Alamo. It was not too busy here today, but we decided not to go in. We've been inside before and there isn't much there anyway. So on to the River Walk. One of the many stairway entrances was only a block or two away.

'
The River Walk twists and turns through the area and is such a nice relaxing stroll. It's shaded for the most part either by bridges, buildings or large trees so it is always cool.

You can see the river boats taking people on an informational cruise.

Beautiful waterfalls and tile artwork. David thought this would make a nice quilt.

This piece of artwork was outside the Briscoe Western Art Museum which is on the River Walk.

We had lunch at Rita's on the River (Mex-Tex of course) and then took a river boat ride. It was very nice and we found about a lot more information about the River Walk and the building around it.

It was a very nice day, but we were anxious to get home to our kitties. How can anyone travel without their kitties?
