Bird's nest
This is our last day in the Kansas City area. We have really been impressed with what a nice area this is-at least in the Overland Park area. There seems to be plenty of restaurants, shopping and just about anything you like need. The homes in the area all seem to be kept up very nicely, even in the older areas of town and traffic here did not seem to be a problem even in rush hour. It seems like a very nice place to live.
For breakfast we went to a spot that was focused on Food TV "Drive-Ins, Diners and Dives", Mamas 39th Street Diner.
It was neat KU Medical Center and the menu was unbelievable---66 omelet choices alone. We ordered their famous corned beef and it was delicious. There was just too much food however.
Afterwards we waddled over to Lawrence, Kansas. Nancy from Quilt Sampler magazine had told me that Lawrence had a very nice down town area with a lot of unique shops. We needed to do something to walk off that breakfast. As we walked down the sidewalk David noticed a bird's nest inside the Kinko's sign. Lawrence is obviously a college town since there didn't seem to be any one there under 21 yrs old, but it was a nice visit.
Tomorrow we leave for Goodland, Ks.
