MUNISING, MICHIGAN

On Thursday, Sept. 16th we headed for Munising. We drove right along the edge of Lake Michigan. It's amazing how clear  and blue the lakes are up here. It was a pretty short drive from St Ignace to Munising.

You would never think this is a lake.
It was pretty windy as we were driving and it was a bit difficult to keep the MH and car steady.

Nicholas enjoyed sitting in my lap for part of the way, although his favorite place in on the bed in front of my feet on the passenger side.

At one point all 3 kitties were riding on the couch.

We arrived at Pictured Rocks RV Park in Christmas, MI. It is a new campground about 3 miles from Munising.  As a new park it has also no trees and the sites are huge. Ours ins about 80 ft long and no where near the next site. The only thing missing was cable TV, but we have 2 Smart Samsung TVs so we are able to get TV directly from them. Because I selected site 18 we are close to the bath house and the internet tower, so we had good internet. The farther away you get, the worse the internet.

The winds here were unbelievable. 16, to 20 MPH. The entire MH was swaying , especially during the night. We decided to pull in the living room slide because the slider topper that keep out leaves, etc were flapping so hard and was so noisy. We didn't sleep very well because of the high winds. The next day was also windy, so we decided not to schedule the boat cruise to the Pictured Rocks until the following day.

Wide open spaces. They had a nice bath house with a so called laundry, but they only had 1 washer and 1 dryer with $3.00 per wash and $3.00 per dry. We decided we could wait until there's a better laundry.

In the afternoon we decided to check out some of the water falls in the area. This one is Miner's Falls and there is a .6 mile walk to get to it. It was a beautiful trail and it was very busy with people.

About 2 miles further down the main road was Miner's Castle and it's over look. Not a long way to walk and a terrific view.

The water was absolutely gorgeous at Miner's Castle.

Later today at the MH, the winds were calmer and no rain, so Bentley and I sat outside for a while. You are no where near your neighbor here.

We noticed a couple of craft breweries here, so we checked out one. This one is call By George and is in downtown Munising. David decided to order a Sexy Dad Bod Xtra IPA.He said it was excellent. This brewery does not serve food, so we went to Eh Burger to eat. I had a Patty Melt and it was pretty good. David had a white fish sandwich which he didn't care for.

Tomorrow we have our Pictured Rocks cruise.
